Yahoo! To Keep RightMedia Exchange
Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer made a big announcement today: Yahoo is keeping its RightMedia exchange. I think it’s a great decision. In 2011, of $160B spent on media buying only about half a percent was spent 0n exchanges like RightMedia, Google’s AdMeld, Rubicon, OpenX etc.
The space is growing by leaps and bounds as more digital publishers look to RTB platforms to monetize their digital advertising inventory. Mayer’s commitment to keeping Yahoo in the ad tech space is a smart one.
The move also comes as former Admeld display exchange CEO Michael Barrett announced he will stay on as CRO at Yahoo.
